During the first year, the sub programme at UL offers to the students a pool of courses that covers transversal and specific disciplines structured in the five scientific areas of the programme; earth sciences (ES), biology and ecology (BE), mathematics (M), forest engineering (FE) and social and management sciences (SMS). The design of the sub programme will be made according the applicant interest and with previous academic degree. General knowledge about Mediterranean forestry and the management of natural resources in a context of global change will be complemented with a specific local vision, based on case studies at field level. A multi-scale approach will allow the student to develop the skills and competences needed to select any specialization in the second year.
