  1. Objectives:
    The course focuses on Forest Entomology and Forest Pathology applied to management; it is structured in four main chapters that cover:

    • damaging insects identification
    • diagnostic of abiotic and biotic pathogens
    • management of forest pest and
    • management of forest diseases.
       

    The theory lectures will be reduced to such an extent that permits the comprehension of practical lessons.
    Practical sessions will be conducted in the lab and in the field.

  2. Programme topics:
    1. Identify the main insects causing pest in the forest.
    2. Identify the main pathological organism causing diseases in the forest.
    3. Manage the main forest pest occurring from the Mediterranean forest.
    4. Manage the main forest pathogens from the Mediterranean forest.
       
  3. Assessment:
    Course requirements include practical test (50%) and a final exam (50%).
