Lisbon is considered the city of light, and is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe. It is located, where the Tagus river enters the Atlantic Ocean. Visa:

Students from outside of the European Union (non-EU citizens)

As a general rule, the necessary documents for student visa applications for entry in Portugal are:

- Passport or other travelling document (Expiration date not less than three months later than visa’s)

- Three passport size photos

- Criminal register

- Health insurance certificate

- Lodging certificate in Portugal

- Proof of funds upon arrival in Portugal (i.e.scholarship)

- Academic registration document /admission letter of your first host institution

- Vaccines bulletin

- Academic qualifications document (certified by the local Portuguese Embassy/Consulate)

Visa issuing might take long time depending on the country of origin and your status.

The process can take up to 60 days. Foreign students that need a student entry visa should contact the local Portuguese Embassy or Consulate well in advance to get specific information (ex. documents required) and apply for the visa.
