Our MEDfOR alumnus Fahmida Sultana, from the 6th edition of the MEDfOR programme (2017/2019), was recently awarded with a Commonwealth Scholarship to start her PhD at Swansea University in the United Kingdom, where she will be studying the “Impacts of natural and anthropogenic disturbances on the ecosystem multifunctionality and services of Mangrove and Hill forests of Bangladesh”.

After finishing her MEDfOR journey at the Universities of Lleida (Spain) and Tuscia (Italy), Fahmida worked as an assistant professor at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, in Bangladesh.

“MEDfOR journey is always very precious to me. Along with conventional education, it helped me to realize different cultures, languages and gather realistic life experiences. Honestly, I have invested two years of my life in a meaningful way and I believe the lifetime memories that I have achieved from MEDfOR will always assist me to reach my future destination”, says Fahmida.

Congratulations and good luck with your PhD Fahmida!
